You already hold an acceptance, and now you're wondering what's still moving. That's an ordinary morning, and this page starts from the acceptance rather than from a table of rates.
Almost everybody who lands here is in one of three situations. A refund is on its way. Or a balance is still sitting there. Or a K-1 turned up after the personal return had gone in, which raises a fair question about whether the company return behind it is still open.
The filing clock stops on the day the return is accepted, and that part is done. Failure to pay is a second clock and interest is a third, and both of those can carry on running after the return is safely in. Their arithmetic lives on the IRS pages rather than on this screen, so no rate and no figure gets printed here.
One kind of relief shows up as mail you never requested, and it's meant for someone who filed the three prior years when they were due and paid the tax on them too. The IRS sends it. The older relief on the same page is something you contact them about, and this desk does not make that contact as your representative.
Interest on tax that is still unpaid sits outside that letter. Reasonable cause is a separate request, with its own story to tell.

Once this morning has a name, the live work is the estimates for the year that's already underway. A Tax CFO is the controller and CFO seat for an owner-run business with the tax work inside it, so the books, the return and the plan come from one desk and the October number is decided before the year ends.
Breadth is this morning and those estimates kept on one desk, so the fix for last year and the plan for this one don't contradict each other. Height is closing the months from here so that next April turns out to be an ordinary morning rather than another one of these.
Getting the return accepted was the large part of this, and what remains is slower and usually smaller than the morning made it feel. The useful note to send is simply which of the three mornings you're actually in.
Reading the morning after an acceptance is the work here. It stops short of an audit, a review, a compilation or an opinion on your statements. There is no CPA license at this desk, so those belong with a firm that holds one. A letter gets explained to you here, never answered on your behalf. A hearing about a balance you cannot pay is representative work, and it lives elsewhere. Everything else that bounds this desk is kept on the disclosures page.
Name the morning. If you need a month closed so next April stays quiet, say that too.
You will be talking to the Steven Palmieri practice.
